The Ohio Health Information Management Association is inviting individuals or companies to submit presentation proposals to be considered for the OHIMA 2026 Annual Meeting & Trade Show which is scheduled to take place in-person March 9-11, 2026 in Columbus, Ohio. Please submit your presentation proposal by the deadline of August 1st.

OHIMA is looking for experts to present on current topics and the latest trends in health information. Topic possibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • **Artificial Intelligence
  • Privacy & Security
  • Revenue Cycle (denials, **dealing with payers)
  • Coding (advanced inpatient, outpatient, pediatric, physician office, etc.)
  • Clinical Documentation Improvement/Integrity (CDI)
  • Health Law & Compliance topics 
  • Leadership, Human Resources and Project Management topics (high-level)
  • Technology, Informatics, Data Analytics 
  • Other Emerging Issues

The goal of OHIMA26 presentations is for attendees to come away with valuable takeaways that can be implemented immediately. Priority consideration is given to speakers with hands-on implementation experience and to presentations offering actionable ideas and substantive answers to specific, real-world questions. Share your mistakes along with your successes! 

Improve your odds of being selected. The committee will be looking for:

  • Best practices/lessons learned
  • Speakers who engage the audience / interactive presentations 
  • Real implementation stories / detailed case studies
  • Intermediate to advanced content
  • Presentations without product/sales pitches 

*PLEASE NOTE: Speakers MUST speak for the entire block of time allotted for CEU purposes!  Breakout sessions are scheduled for 50 minutes. 

Presentation proposals must be submitted by AUGUST 1, 2025. The planning committee will review proposals and select presentations and you will be contacted no later than December 1st of the programming committee's decision of whether or not your proposal is accepted. 

Keynote Speakers: All speakers (including professional keynote speakers) must submit the brief online presentation proposal information to be considered. You may provide the link to your website and/or more detail about your presentation in the comment section. 

OHIMA Member Speakers: Share your expertise with your peers! All OHIMA speakers shall have their registration fee waived for the day they are speaking. 

Vendor Speakers: We welcome and encourage companies to submit a presentation proposal, but all HIM-affiliated companies must abide by the following criteria:

  • Content MUST be educational.  Attendee feedback consistently shows that session attendees do not want to hear product pitches; they are looking for real insight that is going to help them do their jobs better. Please do not have your non-HIM sales person presenting information that they cannot discuss nor answer audience questions because they did not create the slides.

  • Unless your vendor presenter is HIM credentialed or can demonstrate expertise in the area that you are presenting, you must present with a client.

  • Anyone affiliated with an HIM company MUST be an exhibitor at our show in order to present. Your company is required to book your booth as part of your speaker agreement. Click here for information on how to become an exhibitor.
