Known for her expertise in healthcare documentation integrity, she has held key roles in coding, utilization review, and clinical documentation improvement (CDI). Sharon has led initiatives integrating natural language processing and machine learning into coding and CDI technology, driving innovation in the field.

A sought-after speaker and author, she contributes significantly to professional education and development. Sharon's leadership extends to board positions with organizations like AHIMA and American College of Physician Advisors  (ACPA), where she advocates for high-quality clinical documentation and advancing the HI profession.

ABOUT THE PRESENTERS

Angie James, MBA, RHIA, CCS, is a Coding Manager with a passion for finding innovative ways to navigate the ever-changing world of healthcare in a pay-for-performance environment. She has over 20 years' experience in healthcare, working in all aspects of the revenue cycle. Her career ranges from physician's office registration to facility billing, with a primary focus on facility coding, compliance, education, and audits. Angie earned her BS in Health Information Administration from the University of Cincinnati and MBA at Thomas More University. She is on the Executive Board for OHIMA, President-Elect for SWOHIMA and serves on the advisory committee for the Health Information Management Department of Gateway Community & Technical College.

 

Dee Mandley, RHIT, CDIP, CCS, CCS-P has been in the health information management field for 30+ years.  She has held various positions within hospitals, review organizations, and HIM consulting firms and has successfully managed D. Mandley & Associates, LLC. since 2004.  She also holds the credentials of RHIT, CDIP, CCS, and CCS-P.  She is active in OHIMA and has held several positions on the executive board. Dee lives near Brady Lake and when not working enjoys time with her grandchildren Maddie and Deacon.
